Cycling is a very well-known shape of transport and over the many decades it was around, has evolved drastically. It is not only the bicycles themselves that have changed over time, but the other elements regarding the cycling world have followed suit. The cycle path is one that has developed vastly over the past 90 years. When the bicycle was first produced there were no cycle paths around. Citizens had to cycle on poorly built paths and uneven ground which began to ruin the bicycles they were riding. Cyclists then spoke up regarding the situation which began the story regarding the bicycle path. It all started towards the end regarding the 19th century. This time saw the rise in popularity with cycling. Rather than a hobby it was considered to be a shape of transport, which many people took up. At the time there were poor riding facilities and there were no cycle paths and segregated lanes for bicycles like there exists in today's society. Many who rode campaigned for better quality riding surfaces, paths and cycle routes. Within the 1920's first path for the use of cyclists was created. Thus began the begin regarding the cycle path and many more were due to follow. When the invention regarding the car came about, motorists wanted their own roads to drive on. These were to be separated from those choosing to ride a bike. As more and more people began to drive cars, fewer people chose to use bikes. Bicycle paths and roads for cars where then created separately. This then began the begin regarding the motor road. The separated lanes prove to be a safer method for cyclists and motorists to travel. Throughout the place and the globe you can different kinds of roads and lanes for cars and cycles.
